River Table Workshop – Coffee Table

Duration: 4-6 hours

Introduction:

The Rivershop proudly presents its Resin River Coffee Table Workshop, where participants can blend craftsmanship with creativity to design their own unique river table. This immersive course offers hands-on experience with waney edge wood and resin, giving participants the opportunity to create stunning pieces of functional art. The river table workshop takes place over two consecutive Sundays, allowing ample curing time for the resin and ensuring that participants can fully experience the transformation of raw materials into a beautiful coffee table.

Course Overview:

The Resin River Coffee Table Workshop is tailored for individuals who want to combine the natural beauty of waney edge wood with the captivating allure of resin. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience in woodworking, this river table workshop will guide you through each step of the process, from selecting wood and preparing molds to mastering resin pouring techniques. The goal is to empower participants with the skills and knowledge to craft a custom-made coffee table that merges practicality with artistic expression.

Hands-On Experience with Power Tools

A key component of the river table workshop is the hands-on experience participants will gain with power tools. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, attendees will learn how to safely use tools like saws, routers, and sanders to shape and refine their coffee table designs. By working directly with these tools, participants will not only develop their woodworking skills but also build confidence in handling more complex tools and techniques, essential for creating high-quality river tables.

Working with Waney Edge Wood

Waney edge wood is celebrated for its natural, rustic aesthetic, and it serves as the perfect complement to the resin in a river table workshop. Participants will be taught how to select, prepare, and work with waney edge wood, creating the foundation of their coffee tables. This raw, unrefined wood adds an organic touch to the resin river flowing through the middle, resulting in a harmonious balance between natural and modern design elements.

Resin Artistry

One of the most exciting aspects of the Resin River Coffee Table Workshop is the exploration of resin artistry. Participants will learn how to create a mesmerizing resin river by selecting colors, blending pigments, and mastering resin pouring techniques. The course will cover the properties of different resins and how to achieve the best results in terms of clarity, depth, and durability. The two-day format allows time for the resin to fully cure between sessions, ensuring a flawless finish for the final product.

Setting Up and Preparing Moulds

In this river table workshop, mould preparation is crucial. Participants will receive detailed guidance on how to set up moulds for the resin pour, ensuring that the resin flows smoothly and remains contained during the curing process. Proper mould preparation is key to achieving clean lines and a professional look in the finished table. This part of the workshop will equip participants with the practical skills needed to confidently execute their own resin river projects.

Practical Application and Design

With all the essential skills acquired—woodworking, resin artistry, and mold preparation—participants will embark on the practical creation of their coffee tables. The river table workshop emphasizes creativity, allowing individuals to experiment with different resin colors, wood placements, and design patterns. Each participant will have the opportunity to bring their own artistic vision to life, resulting in a coffee table that is truly one-of-a-kind.

Community Building

Beyond learning new skills, the Resin River Coffee Table Workshop also fosters a sense of community. The collaborative environment encourages participants to share ideas, tips, and inspiration with each other, building connections with like-minded artisans. Whether discussing woodworking techniques or exchanging resin color ideas, the river table workshop provides a platform for creativity and camaraderie.

Conclusion: The Rivershop’

Resin River Coffee Table Workshop offers an enriching experience that combines technical skill-building with artistic expression. Participants will leave the workshop not only with a beautiful, functional coffee table but also with newfound confidence in their ability to work with wood, resin, and power tools. This river table workshop is an invitation to embrace creativity, develop new skills, and craft a unique masterpiece that reflects your personal style and craftsmanship.
