Situated in the vibrant Thames Side Studios, we are dedicated to providing high-quality workshops in carpentry, epoxy resin, DIY, and bespoke experiences for individuals of all skill levels. Our mission is to inspire creativity, foster new skills, and build a community of makers who share a passion for craftsmanship.
Our Story
The Rivershop was born from a love of making and a desire to share that passion with others. Founded by Richard Wagner, an experienced craftsman, The Rivershop reflects his belief in the joy and satisfaction that comes from creating something with your own hands. Whether you’re a complete beginner, an aspiring hobbyist, or someone looking to refine your skills, we believe that everyone has the potential to craft beautiful, functional pieces.
Our Workshops
At The Rivershop, we offer a variety of workshops tailored to suit different interests and experience levels. Our carpentry courses cover the fundamentals and beyond, allowing participants to build their confidence and capabilities. Our epoxy resin courses offer an exciting opportunity to explore the beauty of resin art, including our popular resin river workshops that combine waney edge timber with stunning resin designs. Additionally, our DIY courses empower participants to tackle home improvement projects with newfound knowledge and skills.
We also pride ourselves on our bespoke bookings, where we can tailor experiences to meet your specific needs, whether it’s a unique gift, a special event, or a custom project. Had a great time last weekend at the River Shop. Everyone’s results in the seascapes class were fantastic and Richard has loads of useful knowledge to take away and utilise in your own practice. Ps. you have the option of doing an upgrade piece at the end of class too!

Firstly, I would like to thank Richard for all of the effort he put into to accommodating my disability (wheelchair) and for making it possible for me to attend his class, secondly, I had a fantastic experience and learnt a lot from Richard, I would take another class and recommend anybody who is looking to work with resin to book a class with Richard.

Did the Beginners Part 1 course on 5 Oct in the morning – Great course, really well organised and run. Covered all the basics I have seen in videos but now have got hands on experience and tried it out for real.
